While I grew up in the United States I often visited family in Mexico as well as traveling to different parts of the country. It wasn't until December 2008 that I came face to face with organized crime in Tamaulipas. Thus began my journey on cartel research and in 2009 I began contributing to the now defunct forum on Borderland Beat. Over the years I have noticed that an unfortunate phenomenon, noteworthy major media articles have disappeared, making historic research and writing increasingly difficult.
It is for that reason I created this blog as an archive for articles that I personally want to ensure are preserved for future use by myself and others.
